Help protect against skin breakdown caused by incontinence, medical adhesive related skin injuries (MARSI), chronic wounds, diabetes, ostomy care, or fungal infections. 3M™ Cavilon™ Professional Skin Care products provide simple, soothing relief for vulnerable skin.
Do you have a program that effectively reduces the risk of skin damage? Facility-acquired skin damage is a recognized quality indicator for nursing care.* Skin damage results in resident suffering and potential complications such as infection.

Your residents count on you to help protect against skin damage. A program to prevent skin damage can help reduce discomfort for residents and costs for your facility. 3M sponsored a robust health economic study for incontinence dermatitis prevention and found that the use of Cavilon™ No Sting Barrier Film three times weekly is as effective in protecting against Incontinence-Associated Dermatitis as products that require application after each episode of incontinence.* Applying Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film only three times per week also resulted in significantly lower costs than other product regimens.

Quality of life in long term care is a concern for residents, their families, and their caregivers. With the goal of improving resident care, a study was conducted to determine if using 3M™ Cavilon™ Durable Barrier Cream would improve peri-anal skin integrity and reduce urinary tract infections. The study showed that incorporating an educational effort and developing a standardized plan of care resulted in a noticeable improvement in peri-anal skin condition and a reduction in urinary tract infections.

Bodily fluids, adhesive trauma, friction and incontinence can quickly break down skin. Cavilon™ No Sting Barrier Film is an alcohol-free and sting-free liquid barrier film that provides protection from skin damage due to incontience for up to 72 hours. A breathable coating helps protect damaged skin and can help decrease skin breakdown. It is transparent which allows for continuous monitoring of at risk skin. The unique formulation provides long-lasting protection and does not transfer to, or interfere with, diapers or continence briefs.

Frequent reapplication of barrier creams requires valuable staff time. Cavilon™ Durable Barrier Cream provides durable, long-lasting protection from body fluids and moisturizes the skin. Fewer applications are needed which save time and labor. Its unique, polymer-based formula provides a breathable barrier to promote skin health in patients at risk for skin damage from incontinence while still allowing adhesive products to adhere to the skin. The cream vanishes into the skin, does not clog briefs or diapers, and resists wash off. Using Cavilon™ Durable Barrier Cream regularly on intact skin can help protect against breakdown caused by regular exposure to urine and stool, increasing patient comfort.
